Is Buying A Designer Handbag Good Value?

By Lee MacRae

The latest in fashion rage is designer handbags. It seems everyone from your aunt to your sister-in-law desires a Besso handbag. But when you consider the expense of buying one of these designer handbags, the question that we have to ask is, are we spending our money wisely?

It's obvious that most people today want to make sure their hard earned money is used wisely. They need to know if a BCBG bag or purse is worth the expanse. Will it last. Well, the answer is yes. And why is that true?

No doubt part of the cost is the name of the designer. But it is also true that you're going to pay for quality when you buy a name brand product. Top-of-the-line designer handbags by Botkier or Maya will be made from the best leather material.

Here is a hint, fine leather bags have a fine lining. Cheap leather bags will not have that feature. Manufacturers of the cheaper products are trying to keep the cost down as much as possible. As a result, you will find cheaper linings and even cheaper hardware. Avoid these like the plague. Top full grain leather's come from top grade hides and have no imperfections. These top grain leather's are extremely durable. It is long-lasting and over years of use, it darkens to its full beautiful patina in various stages. The skins of young cattle are usually used for full grain handbags and are prized for their smooth texture and fine quality.

So, what you get when you buy a handbag by Luella or Guess? Well, what you're going to get is a product that is top-notch that will give you pleasure for many years. Even if you have to save up your money, use it wisely and by a designer handbag.

New recruit reporting in!

Tue, 10 Feb 2004 17:10:00 GMT

Hello everyone. This is my first dotNetJunkie.com blog entry! My name is Jean-Philippe Couture, and I am a senior student at a local college. Born and raised in snowy land near Quebec City, Canada. I am studying software engineering, working almost exclusively with the Microsoft .NET platform for the last year or so. I am planning to get my Microsoft developer certifications (MCAD, MCSD) before the end of spring 2004.

Before picking up Microsoft .NET, I was an old-school *NIX-based developer that would stay as far away as possible from a Microsoft product. Oh, I once did a very small incursion into the early Java world, which left me with a bad taste in the mouth. I have to admit, that ever since I made the big switch to the Microsoft .NET development framework, I am more and more pleased with Microsoft products.

I am working with a small development team at school to complete our final project, which is going to be using almost every current aspects of what the framework as to offer. I say current, because we don't have access yet to any next-generation technology (ie: Whidbey, Avalon, Indigo, WinFS, Yukon, etc). We are on a somewhat tight schedule, but I am fairly confident in the tools we are using to get the job done on time, and have a great product release by May 2004.

I am looking forward joining this exciting community, as I have been an avid reader for the past 6 months. By the way, I want to thank Donny Mack for hooking me up with this blog. ;-)
